"If all goes according to plan, I hope to graduate from Temple University in December 2007 with a B.S. in Computer Science. I am hopeful that one day, in some small way, I may be an inspiration to a young person who happens to have a serious mental illness and who may be wondering whether the pursuit of a college education is within his or her reach. The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation has contributed to my continued success - not just in terms of money, but also with regard to the committee's belief in my abilities."

- M. H., Temple University

APPLICATION INFORMATION

No grants are made directly to individual students

In selecting academic institutions to participate, the Foundation's Trustees consider those that render exceptional services to large numbers of students with disabilities.

Applicants are expected to accept challenge grants to build Newcombe Endowed Scholarship Funds with matching contributions from other donors. New applicants are also required to secure matching funds for the portion of each annual Newcombe grant that is designed for direct support of scholarships in the current year.
