Catherine Curley, PhD, RN

Breakout Session Topic: Study Abroad: Accessible for All

Catherine Curley has been a faculty member at Villanova since March, 2020, bringing a background of education, hospital administration, business line strategy, and population and community health through her work at Temple University and Cooper University Health Care. Currently she is a faculty member in the BSN Express program and teaches Health Promotion, Global and Public Health Imperatives. She has also served as the Director for Center for Global and Public Health at the College of Nursing for the past two years. Her community health experience included a role as a liaison with the Temple primary nursing center for projects with local schools for asthma, health literacy for elder immigrants in senior centers, and various efforts with the health departments. For the past twelve years, Dr. Curley has maintained leadership roles in local hospitals, where her responsibilities included the development of a population health, transitional care, and case management departments and community-based services. She was responsible for leading the Community based needs assessment for nine years. Most recently she was charged with the development of a charter school-based wellness center in Camden managed by Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Curley earned a BSN from La Salle University in 1986, her MSN, Clinical Specialist in Community Health from West Chester University in 1997, and her PhD from Widener University in 2016.
