Jasmeial “Jazz” Jackson, Ed.D.
Dr. Jasmeial (“Jazz”) Jackson serves as the Chief Student Success and Experience Officer at Thomas Edison State University (TESU), where he leads a broad portfolio focused on advancing student achievement, engagement, and belonging. His areas of oversight include academic advising, faculty support, career services, military and veteran services, student accessibility services, tutoring, academic integrity, and equity and inclusion initiatives.
A collaborative and student-centered leader, Dr. Jackson partners with colleagues across the university to create a seamless and intentional student experience. He works to ensure learners receive the knowledge, resources, and support needed to successfully achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals—from enrollment through graduation and beyond. As a member of key institutional leadership and strategic planning teams, he helps drive university-wide retention, persistence, and student success initiatives.
Dr. Jackson brings extensive experience across private, for-profit, and public higher education institutions. His diverse professional background has equipped him with a deep understanding of the evolving needs of today’s learners and the strategies required to foster equitable outcomes and organizational excellence.
He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Administration, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering.
In addition to his university leadership role, Dr. Jackson is a sought-after coach, consultant, and speaker. Through his consulting practice, he advises educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and corporate entities on leadership development, organizational effectiveness, student success, and strategic growth. He frequently speaks on topics including overcoming adversity, authentic leadership, personal branding, financial empowerment, and living with purpose.
