Kaitlyn Wilson is Professor and department chair for Speech-language Pathology and Audiology at Towson University. She is also the director of the interdisciplinary Autism Studies PhD program at TU and mentors and advises doctoral students from the program. She currently also serves as TU’s co-lead for participation in the College Autism Network’s Autism Inclusive Campus Designation process. An SLP by background, Kaitlyn has been working in academia for 14 years, including a postdoctoral fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Her research focuses on autism, and more recently has specific focus in areas such as self-advocacy in autistic college students, communication and employment supports, and interdisciplinary professional preparation for those planning to work with autistic individuals in the schools and beyond. She has taught in her department at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, in courses such as language development, autism for SLPs, articulation and phonological disorders, and research writing.
