Lauren Allen, LMSW, M.Ed., CYT, is a social worker, educator, and higher education leader with more than 15 years of experience in social work, advocacy, and student support. She currently serves as the Senior Director of the Women’s, Gender & Equity Center & Advocacy Services at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).

Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowie State University and her Master of Social Work, Certificate in Trauma Treatment and Practice, and Master of Education in Human Sexuality with an emphasis in Sex Therapy from Widener University. She is also a 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher and has completed specialized training in sexuality education.

Lauren is currently a PhD candidate in social work. Her professional and scholarly interests include trauma-informed practice, sexuality and wellness, gender equity, Black maternal health, and creating inclusive and affirming spaces for students and communities.
