President, Rider University
Gregory G. Dell’Omo has served as president of Rider University since Aug. 1, 2015. Under his leadership, Rider has instituted a new strategic plan designed to ensure the University’s continued growth and provide successive generations of Rider students a highly transformative and affordable college education. He has also instituted a number of key initiatives, including the University’s Engaged Learning Program, which requires all undergraduate students to complete out-of-the-classroom learning experiences to fulfill graduation requirements. Introduced in 2020, Lifting Barriers created a series of new measures intended to strengthen the overall value of a Rider education, including a 22% reduction of annual undergraduate tuition, as well as robust support for career preparation and academic success. In 2021, the University introduced the Cranberry Investment program, which guarantees that Rider’s undergraduate students who fulfill their responsibilities will obtain an entry-level job related to their field of study or be accepted into graduate or professional school within six months of graduation.
In 2022, Rider publicly launched its most ambitious philanthropic campaign ever, Transforming Students – Transforming Lives: The Campaign for Rider University. With a goal of $80 million, the campaign seeks to fund three areas that truly help the University create transformational experiences for its students: building Rider’s endowment, investing in our campus and strengthening the University’s Annual Fund.
Dell’Omo earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Montclair State University, a Master of Science in industrial relations from Rutgers University and a PhD in industrial relations/human resource management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also earned certifications at Harvard University from the Institute for Education Management and the Seminar for New Presidents.
