Cedar Crest College, Director of Global Initiatives
Breakout Session Topic: Study Abroad: Accessible for All
Kelly Hall is a big fan of study abroad. She spent a year studying at the Sorbonne in Paris while earning her BA at Sweet Briar College, and later earned her MA in medieval studies from the University of York in England. Her PhD is in medieval literature, and her dissertation topic was medieval travelers. She has 14 years of college-level teaching experience in literature, language, and the humanities, and has taught courses in London, Florida, West Virginia, and aboard deployed U.S. Navy vessels. She is currently the Director of Global Initiatives at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA. She leads their cornerstone program, the Sophomore Expedition, and facilitates all study abroad. She recently returned from the Expedition to Rome (with 95 students!) and is looking forward to the Dublin Expedition next year. She has lived, worked, or traveled to all seven continents—including working four austral summers in Antarctica. She’s hoping the Galapagos will be her next big adventure.
